Will it stay in the glove by itself?

Yes (typically).  The PlayMaker is filled with a pliable, pillow type poly-fiber and the back portion is made of suede leather and is rounded to conform to your glove pocket.  Set in place, the suede provides enough tackiness to keep it in the glove.  However, the PlayMaker also has an eyelet on the back and comes with a leather strap that can be used to quickly tie it to the glove webbing if your glove is new or doesn't have a well defined pocket.

It feels a lot more natural to use your own glove for two hands training instead of a flat paddle or pancake type glove.  And with your glove, you can be sure the glove hand, wrist and fingers are at the proper angle in relation to the oncoming ball.  Not only can you use the PlayMaker for fielding ground balls, it also is great for 2B and SS double play drills.  Plus, it fits into a catcher's mitt which allows you to use it for catcher blocking drills.  The Playmaker is a great new invention that makes two hands training very affordable and very effective.
